Color war break out summer camp ideas4/23/2024 ![]() A Color War by any other name such as Olympics, Maccabiah, or Tribal is still a Color War an intensive, often multi-day activity. ![]() Regardless of which weekend you choose, it's an experience unlike any other. Building harmony is a mantra at camp, and yet one of the most common similarities between many camps no matter where they are and what their tradition may be is the presence of something we call, Color War. And for Club Getaway's final weekend of the season, they'll host a special option for Gilmore Girls fans visiting the Kent-based festival celebrating the series. The first weekend after Labor Day (September 8-10), drop by for an entrepreneur experience with Jesse Itzler, owner of the Atlanta Hawks, Kevin Harrington, an original ABC Shark Tank judge and Susie Carder of Motivating the Masses. Then there's a special celebration with John Waters (September 22-24), the creative maniac behind films like Pink Flamingo and Hairspray. With only five weekends left until the property closes for the winter, campers can opt between traditional and themed weekends. (Don't skip the hot air balloon.) A low hum from the Camp-I-Theatre filled the air, and the crowd sprinted down to find out what was waiting for them. Most people remember field day as an exciting end to the school year or the summera way to cap off a chapter of learning (and burn some energy) alongside the friends you’ve made. Right as Andy was about to send everybody back to the bunks, he revealed the final Color War clue: “Be careful what you wish for…” Immediately, the crowd started chanting “Ron Dagan,” (a THC legend…) when Andy told everybody to be silent and listen in the distance. ![]() Once the incredible Air Elite show came to an end, hopes of this being Color War breakout started to dwindle. After being told to go back to their seats, THC welcomed the three members of Air Elite, a traveling team of basketball dunkers who took to the courts to perform some amazing tricks for Tyler Hill. ![]() Could this be it? Campers and counselors swarmed towards the vehicle, anxious to see if it this would be the breakout of Color War 2013. Finally, it was time to announce the last STARFISH winners of summer 2013.Īfter all of the names were read, hearts started racing as a van was seen pulling into camp. Step Two: Prepare your colors Decide on whether or not you want to use a squeeze bottle, bags, or color balls as ammunition. Today we are just going to pick one to walk through, and that is capture the flag. Then, Wendy came forward to read her last STARFISH speech of the summer. Step One: Pick Your Game There are many different games that you can play and incorporate into a color war. After the CITS spoke, it was time for Michael to read the last set of quotes for the last two values of STARFISH. The most anticipated night of the summer finally arrived this past weekend as all of THC headed up the basketball courts for the last STARFISH ceremony of the summer! The themes of this week’s service were Sensitivity and Helpfulness, and it was the CITS turn to get up in front of THC to explain the meaning of these two values in their time here at Tyler Hill. ![]()
